A warm summers night, Adam turns to his side restlessly trying to fall asleep, his window open for what little breeze may pass through. Suddenly a familiar touch wraps itself around his chest. Without turning to see, he responds:
Adam: It's been a while... I recognize the cold yet warm embrace anywhere. Where have you been?
A cold breath fill's Adam's ear...
Stranger: I came to say goodbye.
Adam: Goodbye? Where are you going?
Stranger: Away, for a long time, this may be the last time I will see you.
Adam: That's not a good way to help me sleep. Can't you take me with you?
Stranger: I am leaving to spare you the pain.
Adam: A lifetime of pain or an eternity by your side... I may not want to live forever but I know what I would prefer.
Stranger: What are you asking of me?
Adam: You know what you must do if we are to be together.
Stranger: You are asking me to do something I could never do.
Adam: But wouldn't it be better for the both of us? Should we both suffer until we die?
